ok ok ok ok ok ok. ok. i need to get back in the saddle again. i can count the number of runs i did over the winter break on one hand. not cool.
i did the First Run race this morning on the river. it was so nice outside. i decided to do the 5K since i hadn't raced one yet. 27:04. not bad, i guess. longer races are definitely my forte, if i even have a running forte.
this year, or at least this winter, i'm taking a 10K training class to make me a little faster (hopefully) if not just keep me moving. plus i'll be doing a zumba class after the running. we'll see how that works. i found a running partner on craigslist for my long runs and alvin keeps telling me i'm going to die.
i'm determined that i'm going to love running this year. we just read Born To Run together and we're both inspired. the author made banging out 20 miles during a weekday sound like nothing.i just don't understand how you can enjoy running while you're actually running. a mystery i'm curious to solve.
i've got the Eugene Marathon lined up for May 2nd and i really want to do the women's half-marathon here labor day weekend.
happy 2010!
